My commitment is to always provide value for money, and I have outlined the approximate costs below. In order to give you a specific cost per hour, I will need to know the scope of work and perhaps see the document (or part of it). Please feel free to call me for a no-obligation chat about fees.
- Secretarial fees range from $30.00 for small jobs (i.e. work that takes less than half an hour to complete) up to $50.00 per hour.
- Normally costs are calculated on a per hour basis in 15-minute increments, but depending on the work involved, weekly, fortnightly or monthly retainers can be set up. Options can be discussed during our initial consultation.
- Ongoing weekly work may be calculated at a discounted hourly rate, (i.e. at least eight hours per week).
- Generally, all aspects of the job are included as part of the hourly rate, (i.e. phone calls and emails). The use of courier services or Express Post will be charged separately.
- Copy-editing fee is $60.00 per hour. Proofreading, although a separate component, will be included as part of the copy-editing process.
- Proofreading fees only (on fully edited documents or books) range from 2¢ per word to 3¢ per word.
- Travel costs may be applicable for on-site work.
- Terms of payment:
- seven days from the date of invoice
- by arrangement
- in some instances, a deposit may be required—especially for large projects.
- Weekly or fortnightly invoices will be sent for ongoing work.
- Payment can be via direct deposit (preferred), cash or business cheque.
- My business is not GST registered; therefore, I do not charge GST.
- Mackenzie Editing and Secretarial Services strives for perfection and, in doing so, will endeavour to provide a product free of errors. However, you as my valued client, are responsible for reading and approving the final document.
