Fees and Terms

My commitment is to always provide value for money, and that’s why I can only give a range of costs here. In order to give you a specific cost per hour, I will need to know the scope of work and perhaps see the document (or part of it). Please feel free to call me for a no-obligation chat about fees.

  • Secretarial fees range from $28.00 for small jobs (i.e. work that takes less than half an hour to complete) up to $50.00 per hour.
  • Normally costs are calculated on a per hour basis in 15-minute increments, but depending on the work involved, they can be calculated at a daily or weekly rate. Options can be discussed during our initial consultation.
  • Ongoing weekly work may be calculated at a discounted hourly rate, (i.e. at least eight hours per week).
  • Generally, all aspects of the job are included as part of the hourly rate, (i.e. phone calls, printing (black & white) and emailing). However, if the job involves a large amount of printing (black & white/colour), or the use of courier services/Express Post, then these costs may be charged separately.
  • Copy-editing fees range from $50.00 per hour to $60.00 per hour depending on the quality of the product and the type of work involved.
  • Proofreading fees (performed after the editing of books) range from 2¢ per word to 3¢ per word.
  • Terms of payment:
    • seven days from date of invoice
    • in some instances, a deposit may be required—especially for large projects
    • weekly invoices will be sent for ongoing weekly work.
  • Payment can be via direct deposit (preferred), cash, or business cheque.
  • My business is not GST registered; therefore, I do not charge GST.
  • Mackenzie Secretarial Services strives for perfection, and in doing so, will endeavour to provide a product free of errors. However, you, my valued client, are responsible for reading and approving the final document.
